Anderson, South Carolina Speed Traps

They sit in tall grass in front of an old house just after you cross I85 and the intersection with Old Denver School Road. The limit drops from 50 mph to 40 mph. I keep waiting for the man who lives in that old shack to come out one day and run them off with a pitch fork.

A unit frequently sits at the edge of the dirt parking lot of Calhoun Academy of the Arts Elementary school during the day.

For the entire 3 mile length that 29 is four lanes merging onto I-85, State Troopers frequently sit either near the Marathon Gas Station at the intersection of 29/SC-8, or in a pull-off just off 85, left side, northbound…trying to catch people who can’t slow down coming off 85 or those who speed up too soon. I used to commute this route and saw cops at least twice a week, every week.

Speed limit changes from 55 to 45, police hide just over the hill.

Police sit on a pad on the rt. side of road just around the corner prior to the restaurant. I see them there a lot on Sunday mornings. Speed limit is 50 and they show little mercy.
