Oswego, Illinois Speed Traps
Mill Street betwwen 31 and Orchard Road
June 2014: posted speed limit is 35. Heavy police presence, seen numerous cars pulled over in last week by both marked and unmarked car, including myself. Seems to be using radar for all cars, got pulled over 2x — once going 45 and once going 40, drive it daily to and from work during standard business hours. Open road, limited cars; could reasonably be posted at 40.
Orchard Road Just North of Mill Rd.
This is a wide-open expanse of road, more suited for higher speeds. The posted limit is 45 mph, but 90% drive over 55. I was caught doing 59 last year by a car hiding in the weeds at Tuscany Dr. I believe the speed limit was 55 out here years ago, so people may still be used to that.
In Massage Envy Parking Lot
usual black & white squad car sits blending into traffic in parking lot right by exit drive – this whole corridor between the light by Dominicks and the T-at Douglas is a speed trap = lots of places to hide and they make a ton of stops here –
Be careful and make sure to wear your seat belt – they sign up for grants for enforcement and since there seems to be one cop assigned per person there are plenty to nail you
oswego city limits
if speeding in oswego, might want to go fast enough so they cant catch up. also if you have no window tinting and a white t shirt, wear your seatbelt they sit in parking lots off 34 near douglas with benoculars.
Millstream in River Run subdivision
There is a Naperville police officer who lives on Millstream just past the Reagan Drive intersection. he parks his police car on the street most of the time so everybody who lives in the area is used to seeing his police car parked there.
Now when he goes to work in Naperville the Oswego police park in his place and set up their speed trap to catch people coming up Millstream from the park area.
