my speeding ticket said "cheraw highway and down hill" but the only problem was that i got pulled over by a society hill officer in marlboro county and society hill is in darlington county which is two counties away. the speed limit was not clearly posted as the officer said and i was about ten miles away from north carolina. this guy cleary had no jurisdiction out there and the chief was in on it as well as the town.

I agree with every post here . I tell people all the time if they go through Society Hill do not speed as the whole town police force is nothing but a speed trap . They especially like to sit outside of town on Hwy 52 going toward Cheraw where you think its open country and start to speed up because it appears you are out of town when indeed the speed limit is still 35 for the next half mile and they sit in an old store parking lot waiting on their next prey. I have seen them at other places in town too so really nowhere is safe from this speed trap . I wonder how many crimes are solved while they sit in their cars waiting on speeders.
