If you spend the night at the Prospector Hotel and Casino that is just before the overpass going out of Ely to McGill, be prepared to travel at 35 m.p.h. and not faster. I left the hotel headed North and thought the speed was 55 m.p.h. and got to about 57 when I discovered the next sign was at the bottom of the overpass and it read 45 m.p.h. so I started slowing back down only to discover a Sheriff car coming at me and he turned on his overhead lights. Needless to say, I got a ticket. The last speed limit sign for 35 is about a half mile before you get to the Prospector Hotel and Casino. He didn't care that I was slowing down before I noticed him either.

I was ticketed by tribal_ local police in Ely, Nv. On 2016. I DIDN'T even know it was tribal LAND and they made me post bail ? In order not to return there and just pay the fine, I have to forfeit the bail and pay a whopping $ 175. THEY totally blind sided me on the speeding fine and bail. I WOULD avoid Ely, like it was the plague.
