Northbound/Westbound A1A / SR 528 at the Old N. Atlantic Ave. split
Road’s in the middle of a jog to the left at that stoplight. There’s an Amoco station on the right, not open at night so it’s dark, you’re watching the road because of the curve.. and there are airport-hotel shuttle vans parked about the station further blocking your view as well. Two cars, almost always green & whites (BCSD) sit between the outsidemost pumps and the highway. Only late at night / early AM until morning traffic starts up and they move to other locations. You’ve just crept through Cocoa Beach at 35 mph & Cape Canaveral at 45 mph, very light traffic at night always, the Beachline / SR 528 is in sight so you’re ready to roll. Don’t. You’re just rolling into more speed traps. That entire stretch of road is one gigantic speed trap until you get west of the SR 524 / Industry Road exit, where the speed limit finally jumps from 55 to 70 mph. More on this stretch of SR 528 / Beachline under Cocoa.
