Olney – Rt. 97 Northbound, approaching Rt. 108
Speed camera in place and operational – speed limits drops rapidly, from 50mph to 40 and then to 30mph right before camera.
You can travel up to 40 mph and not be ticketed, as per Maryland State law – Speed cameras should only issue tickets for 11 mph over posted speed limit.

The speed limit does not "drop rapidly." On Rt. 97 N, from White's Hardware to Old Baltimore Road, the limit is 50 MPH. The speed limit drops to 40 just passed Old Baltimore. The speed limit becomes 30 MPH a half mile down the road as cars enter the city limits and pass by the elementary school.
