The speed limit used to be 45mph on half of the Milligan Highway leaving Elizabethton going toward Johnson City, changing to 35mph and then 30mph on the Johnson City end. They have changed the speed limit to 35mph until you pass Carter County Bank, where it is then 30mph. I admit it is a busy road, but 35mph the entire route is a long, slow drive. I was pulled over going 45 because I didn’t know the speed limit had changed at the time. I travel this road almost every day and see a police car every single time.
