On the corner of Mills and Fairbanks
For the past 3 weeks cops have been sitting in the Popeye’s parking lot catching speeders that have just come from passing over the railroad. They have a person clocking at the railroad, radio the cops in the Popeye’s and they walk out during red lights at the intersection and direct people to pull over.

This has been a speed trap location for many years (10 Plus). I have a business just around the corner. Many times they hide in the parking lot of the Funeral home there on fairbanks just on the west side of Mills (or S. Orlando Ave is what its called there.) Its a 4 lane road with an area that has a 35MPH limit only in this area. They will stop the traffic coming off from I-4 and tell you they got you via Laser radar. (they would not tell me what make and model of the later when I asked) The ticket just said laser and a model number, when I searched all manufactures of laser speed guns none had that model. I also did not get any info from them as to when there unit was calibrated ether. I know I was not going the speed they claimed, and I was pulled out go a group of cars stopped. None of the others were ticked, just let go, because they claimed they were understaffed? With 5 police cars there can't see that. Just be careful in area. I think they just needed more revenue as the Winter Park police department is the highest paid department in all of Orlando. That info came from a few local newspaper web sites. I have video of there practice to show the court. But they make it easier and cheaper to just pay it vs the 3 days in court it would take me to fight it myself. But you should just tell others to watch out and go extra slow, some one should make put up a few signs before that point to worn others. I put one up years ago and saw a police remove it when they saw it in front of my business. wow what nerve.
