Colorado Highway 133 north of Paonia
Southbound on relatively wide downhill two-lane with gentle curves, posted limit drops from 50 mph to 30 mph for no apparent reason (light traffic, no visible homes, businesses, hazards) near mile marker 28, yet prevailing speed remains ~50 mph, which enables local police and Colorado Highway Patrol troopers to take advantage by writing multiple tickets in that area. Fines are high ($250 plus five points for 21 mph over), and Gunnison, CO judge is not prone to leniency despite agreeing that posted limit may be unreasonably low.
