US Highway Highway 62 near East Third Street
Do not, under any circumstances pass through or visit the town of Yellville. The town’s huge sheriff’s department exists only as a way to collect revenue for the county/town. My wife and I were regular patrons of a popular cafe there. Not anymore after a female deputy issed us a speeding ticket in a zone where it goes from 50 to 35 abruptly. The town has a reputation, but we are new to the area and learned it the hard way.

Yes, Yellville has speed traps on both ends of town. Yes, the speed limits change quickly on both ends BUT they are posted and you just need to brake it down quickly. HOWEVER, we do not have a huge force here..quite the contrary. I have been here for 11 years and have found our Sheriffs dept. to be quite nice and helpful. I have even been stopped for going a bit over the speed limit by our sheriffs dept. and our state in the area and neither time did they give me a ticket. I was only 6-7 miles over but I was polite and they were polite and let me off with a warning. On a scale from 1-5, 5 being best, I'd give them a 3.75. Also, we all know you get what you give!
