Officers from the LRPD hide along the south side of 8300 Cantrell just East of the city’s resevoir at the entrance to Resevoir Park which is convenient to pull over the unsuspecting motorists. Posted speed is 40mph but most drive 50-60mph so it is a great spot to drum up revenue for the city (almost as easy as shooting fish in a barrel). Hand held radar guns are using the Ka radar band and the officer is hard to spot from the location, using radaring the vehicle from 1-3 blocks away. This is a popular spot and is worked a few times each month.
