The police department here was founded in response to the community growth. The city council explicitly expressed they did not authorize or expect Anna to become the same type of notorious speedtrap located just to the South (Melissa, TX). I see them now with numerous vehicles, a new office in the old bank building and running radar on Hwy. 75 and on 455 outisde of where the town actually is. In other words, where it is likely they will catch someone just a few miles over the limit and it is easier to pull them over and write a high profit ticket. Of course they are never seen writing tickets on the portion of 455 where people constantly have collisions or around the liquor stores where I spot and dodge a drunk driver about twice a month. This is not what we established this police department for and leadership needs to remedy this situation immediately rather than trying to ticket this town to prosperity.
