Apollo Boulevard near Near Melbourne Police Station in median

Melbourne, FloridaJul 14, 20063 Comments

You do not see the officer in his patrol car late at night. He/She usually sits in the median just south of the traffic light near the police station. The patrol car NEVER has any lights on, no running lights or head lights & just sits there in the dark. I also think that this could possibly be a safety hazzard, not only for the drivers, but also for the officer.

Comments:
The speed limit drops from 45 to 30 without warning, and it is in a four lane divided highway situation with no real reason for the decrease in speed. Trickery.

Very tricky indeed. I got pulled over on this same road twice in 3 days. NEVER speed on this road.

The State of Florida Courts have told Cities and Towns time again they CANNOT sit "blacked out"(no lights). It is a hazard to them and to the unsuspecting motorist if/when they light up! Just we cannot sit on the side of the roadways without at least our parking lights on, they cannot either. Contest it in traffic court! Do some research first and find the specific State Court Rulings and the Judge will have to agree and dismiss.
