US 12 – the Lewis & Clark Trail
There’s a problem with signage in Idaho. Hwy 12 – from Lolo, Montana west to the Idaho border is 65 mph. At the unmarked Idaho border, speed limit changes to 50 mph and remains 50 for the rest of the westward hwy. BUT there is NO SPEED LIMIT SIGN for approx 30 miles into Idaho (many signs on this highway have been removed from their post, or have been broken off by avalanche or snowplows and are laying on the ground). So how do you know you are speeding? You know when the Idaho State Police comes flying out of their hiding place in the trees and pulls you over…….
