US 231 through town

231 goes through DeMotte and is only 35 mph on a very wide and open road. The DeMotte officer (I think his last name is Musch) is a real ball buster. He usually hides near the Pizza Hut and has an itchy trigger finger.

Demotte Police, Indiana State Police, Jasper County Police all work the traffic/revenue! The town is one big traffic stop/ticket/fine bank.
