TN Highway Patrol and Metro Nashville cops love to frequent this area between the Cheatham County line and Charlotte Pike. I have seen Highway Patrol using "ringer" tactics – where a highly visible marked patrol car sits in the median near the top of a rise, with his radar gun powered up full time. He is there just to set off your detector so that you’ll ignore the REAL trap just over the top of the hill. My Valentine One is worth its weight in gold for sniffing out this kind of trap! This stretch of I-40 is a frequent drug enforcement area, so expect high tension if you get stopped here. Bad, bad news!
