York Road near Siddonsburg Road

On York Road, near Siddonsburg Road (this is probabily in Monagan township, not Carroll, although this area is patrolled by the Carroll township police), there are two sets of white lines, both on a steep hill. This is clearly designed to exploit drivers who don’t ride their brakes hard enough while going down a steep hill. On the larger hill, a cruizer sits in Mawory road and times you between the two lines. On the other hill, a cruizer sits in a private driveway and times you. If you look in these two places before entering the white line area, you will have plenty of time to break.

On a side note, the Carroll Township Police devote a lot of time into enforcing the rediculously low speed limits; probabily to generate revenue / meet quotas. White lines are painted on other places of this road and other roads in Carroll and Mohanagan Township. Also, keep an eye out for vehicles traveling behind you as they also use moving vascar during the night (which got me my ticket).

I was giving a ticket for going only 45 in a 35, where most people go 45 to 50. I took it to court and even thou I didn’t win, I was happy to do my part in taking 45 minutes of the cops time and costing the department more money then they exploited from me. I suggest anybody who gets ticketed in the area do the same thing. The more time and money they spend in court, the less time and motivation they have to harass motorists that are traveling safely.

I used the book that was provided with my NMA membership and forced the cop to cough up Vascar certification, proof of odemeter calibration, tire pressure, and proof of Vascar calibration, which unfortunitly he had.
