Rt 51 North between Large VFD & Coal Valley Road
Spped limit RECENTLY REDUCED to 40 MPH. Borough cops with RADAR because of state road! Mainly in A.M. & Mid afternoon. Usually sit in Blue Flame restaraunt in unmarked Impala & pull off multiple cars by before Starlite Motel.

A little erroneous information here. I have been an officer in this community for 27 years and lived here my entire life. This has always been a 40 mph zone, a 45 mph zone 3 miles south of here was reduced to 40 pmh 15 years ago, so this is no recent developement. Also, PA police (except for state police) do not use radar, even on state roads. We do use VASCAR, which requires us to clock each vehicle individually, we can't just time everybody and wait for one to set off the radar. Yes, speed is aggresively enforced, but state law requires us to give 10 mph beofre issuing citations and practicality requires us to give at least 15 mph ( and normally 20 mph) before stopping cars.
