I-71 N
My son (18) was passing a car after the end of a construction zone on the way for a college visit to Case Western. The speed limit is normally 65 mph on I-71, but it was 60 mph in Strongsville. The police clocked him going 26 miles over the speed limit, which was not true. I was experiencing vertigo, and my son had to drive for me. They clocked him passing a car, but he was accelerating to 75. After visiting Case Western, we returned to pay the ticket. The mayor’s court closed early that day, it was supposed to be open until 4:30, but we were there at 3:00. Therefore I had to get a money order, which was somehow lost in the mail for 3 weeks. They did finally receive the money order, but not without putting a warrant out for his arrest. Since I have repeated this story to others, anyone who is familiar with Cleveland knows about Strongsville. Being from Columbus, I did not have a clue that if you accelerate to pass, you would end up with a $170. speeding ticket and a lot of hassle. Beware!
