Elkhorn Road near Cimmaron Street

Las Vegas, NevadaMar 27, 20082 Comments

When traveling east on Elkhorn heading to Cimmaron there are almost always (especially on the weekends) motorcycle cops waiting on the south side of the street in the residential turn ins. Because it runs downhill from the 95 overpass you really have to pay attention to your speed.

The motorcyle cops are here on a regular basis. You are going downhill from the 95 freeway to the location that they hide. Business is brisk!!! Watch your speed. You can not see them untill it is to late!!

Concur absolutely, making eastbound Elkhorn a more juicy target for Metro was that, until about a year ago, there was no speed limit sign east of Durango; drivers entering Elkhorn from the shopping center or Montecito Drive had no way of knowing what the speed limit was. The excessive and unexpected downslope from the I-95 overpass make Elkhorn east a money-making bonanza for Metro. Drivers on Elkhorn should also be aware of another of Metro's rip-off schemes. Between Cimarron and Buffalo there is a middle school. More than once, I have seen school's student warning lights flashing while children were obviously in their classrooms, but a Metro cruiser was set up on the cross street, waiting to prey on any motorist who actually knew the school schedule.
