Heflin, Alabama Speed Traps

The trap is a combination of Cleburne County Sherriff’s Department and Alabama State Patrol forces. They put a plain SUV (usually a late 90’s model Jeep Cherokee) on the overpass, with a tripod set up, so it looks as if they are surveyers. When you come by they clock you and there are 4 or 5 ASP Troopers waiting on the ramp for you to come by.

A large number of Alabama State Troopers were camping the exit near Heflin Alabama on I-20, in Cleburn county. They were armed with Lidar, and stopping large numbers of people at once. It is extremely hard to see this speedtrap until you have a State Trooper entering the highway with your car picked out and his lights on. Be aware, holiday travelers returning from Atlanta or further afar.
