Rogersville, Alabama Speed Traps
East and West of town center.
Rogersville has a new gung-ho officer (rumored to be the police chief’s son) that is apparently trying to prove himself. He’d probably write his own mother a ticket. Watch out!
From red-light to Lee-Hi bridge
Nice wide open 4-lane hwy with turn signal lane and speed limits of 45 to 55. Watch for Rogersville city police cars with radar in church lots, funeral home, cemetery and other places. They have a nice new town hall now. Speed trapping has always been used by the city but worse now than previous years. Watch out!!
Lauderdale County 635 & US Hwy 72
Plain Clothes State Troopers running radar from bed of 1980’s model Red Chevy Pick up. They are parked in closed down store on north side of highway. Speed limit is 55 mph going east and 45mph going west. Both limits are slow for a major four lane highway.
State Highway 72
They chiefly aim at out-of-town folks. For a town of about a 1000, they maintain five cop cars (so you can figure the necessity of having that many around). They are fairly friendly about this but if you aren’t from the town, you just got yourself a ticket.
State Highway 72 near State Highway 72
City Police hide and watch you and they will write you a ticket for going 2 miles over the speed limit. They will also search your vehicle too if the right one stops you.
