Wetumpka, Alabama Speed Traps
Balm Rd
No speed limit signs, was pulled over for doing 61 in a 45, thought the speed limit was 55
Any 2-lane paved county road
Few speed limit signs; state law assumes 45mph on county roads unless otherwise posted. State troopers spring the traps primarily in rural areas. This reporter was just charged $192 for allegedly driving 61 mph on a rural county road in Elmore County, Alabama
Dozier Road near Red Land Road
The speed limit is 30 MPH and they sit in the curve on the side of the road.
Near Ranchito on 231 South
City has changed speed limit on 231 N/S to 45 mph for road maintenance. One BIG speed trap all the way from Wetumpka to the river bridge going into Montgomery, but this specific one was across the street and before Ranchito on the right heading into Mtgy where construction is going on. I suspect there will be a lot of little ‘traps’ all the way up and down 231 until everyone gets used to the maintenance that never seems to be occurring.
