Lethbridge, Alberta Speed Traps

The "Box" or a White Chevy Minvan will be sitting somewhere between 5th and 3rd Avenue South, on Either side of Mayor Magrath Drive (NB or SB). The speed limit is only 50 Km/H.

Entering into Lethbridge from the south, the speed limits on both highways drop down from 100 km/h to 60 km/h very quickly. Both these highways at that point are 4 lane divided highways, but you are entering into an area of commercial development (box stores, etc.) Entering into town (north-bound), the traps are USUALLY far enough in to allow you to slow down (and then speed up again because the speed seems ridicuously slow!). South-bound, the traps are near the end of the 60 km/h zone, when one is tempted to speed up to highway speeds.

There are two school zones on 5th ave N. Both are monitored a couple of times a week mostly on the Westbound side.

E/B between Oldman River and Scenic Drive. Speed limit drops from 100 km/h to 80 km/h at the east end of the Oldman River bridge. Bridge is at the bottom of a long, steep hill.

Just East of Mayor Magrath Drive, EB on Scenic Drive. There is usually a White Chevy Minivan parked on the South side of the road, or the "Box" is sitting beside a light standard. It’s next to Duro’s and the hotel, but before you reach Canadian Tire. The speed limit is only 60 Km/H.
