Gilbert, Arizona Speed Traps
Williams Field Road near Val Vista Drive
Motorcycle officer positions himself on a side street between Lindsay and Val Vista on Williams Field Road, watching the West bound traffic. He is not there every day. I’d say about once every other week.
Higley Road near Ocotillo Road
Police car will sit on the west side of Higley Road, in the ‘intersection’ where Ocotillo is under construction. Southbound view of the police car is obstructed by the bridge over the wash just north of there. Sometimes a couple police cars and a motorcycle will ‘tag team’ the area. Road is fairly isolated in that area. They recently widened it from 2 lanes to 6 lanes, and for some unknown reason dropped the speed limit from 55 mph to 45 mph thru this empty stretch.
State Highway 202 near Cooper Road
Watch out for speed traps on the 202 near Gilbert. Look for helicopters hovering over the highway.
Couple weeks ago there was an unmarked Crown Vic tagging people and 6 cruisers pulling people over at the direction of the first car.
Williamsfield Street
This trap is in between Higley and Market St. Its on the north side of Williamsfield just west of the Crossroads Subdivision. A motorcycle cop sits under some trees and get speeders entering a construction zone. Its just way too slow for that area to go 35 mph.
Germann Road near Between Higley and Power Rd.
I’ve only seen an officer on a bike once catching people going westbound on Germann Road right before you get to Higley Rd. The speed limit is a nice 45mph, but you might get caught going too fast on the overpass and going downhill towards Higley Rd. Drive safely!
