Camden, Arkansas Speed Traps
Corner of 24 hiway and Maul Road
The cars go faster when coming down the Hiway 24 from Chidester to Camden and the police car is waiting for you in the corner of 24 and Maul Rd. obviously the car goes faster coming down and you don’t notice the change of speed so easy. This is the trap
Van Buren Street
Police sit in the lot next to Gatling’s Heating & Air and put the radar on people dropping down the hill and under the railroad viaduct gomg east on Van Buren and those coming from East Camden coming into town where the speed limit is 30 mph.
Branyan- Hunnicutt Bypass & Washington St
Police cars sit at the bottom of the hill where Branyan – Hunnicutt Bypass merges into Washington Street and when you round the curve going NW on the bypass, the speed limit drops from 45 to 30.
Maul Road
City police pull into hidden spots at various spots on the stretch of Maul Road between Henry Wesley Rd (formerly Gravel Pit Road) and Cash Road with the primary location backed into the entrance of Memorial Cemetery and speed limit in this area is 30 mph.
Intersection of 278 and Bradley Ferry Rd
Officers normally sit on the Camden side of the light in the large median in the afternoons, but I have also seen them in the mornings (~5:30). They will catch speeders coming over the bridge going westbound and around the curve going eastbound.
