Elm Springs, Arkansas Speed Traps

Elm Springs and Cave Springs are state roads leading to NW Arkansas Regional Airport and is the main commercial airport to Wal-mart Corporate headquarters in Bentonville, AR. It is also the headquarters of Tyson Foods in Springdale and J.B. Hunt Trucking in Lowell. These communities have the most egregious speed traps where one must go from 55 mph to 35 mph on one side of traffic only.

This town gets a bad wrap. Not as bad as it once was, you still need to pay attention as you travel through. Speed decreases rapidly, but all the limit signs are in sight of one another. The officers are fairly forgiving and will allow you to slid with about 10 over. Anything more that that and you probably should have stayed home and not wasted a day’s labor on what the fine will be. The best bet is to SLOW DOWN in this town.

As you enter town on Hwy 112 the speed limit drops to 30. Going dowhill through town is where you’ll get caught. The young Officer that got me was extremely polite and somewhat forgiving.
