Gentry, Arkansas Speed Traps
State Highway 12/59 near Eagle Watch
The Gentry cops always sit at the Eagle Watch nature trail west of town. Most people dont think this is in the city limits but it is! It’s almost impossible to see them sitting there until its too late. They also sit on the east side of town under a shade tree at the corner of Highway 12 and Virginia street. Although they are very friendly when they stop you, they will still write you a ticket.
Pioneer Lane near State Highway 12
As you turn off of Highway 12 west of Gentry onto Pioneer lane the speed suddenly drops to 25 mph. This is considered a school zone even though the school is about 600 yards away. Enforcement is 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, even in summer months. It is between Hy 12 and SWEPCO Rd that they nailed me, a strech of 100 yards. No school was in session at the time.
Since then they have raised the limit to 30 mph.
I live here and I refuse to do business in Gentry as a result. Several of the people I work with on SWEPCO road have also been nailed on Pioneer Lane at the same place.
