US Highway 64 near State Highway 145
McCrory and Patterson city limits join on west side of McCrory. McCrory officers are also Deputy Sheriff and can issue tickets anywhere in Woodruff County. This makes a five to six mile long hunting zone. Most people that get tickets are out of state vistors or low income locals that do not have time or money to fight the tickets.

When US 64 was moved to bypass McCrory, their city limits were extended just to the North of the new US 64. Enforcement of speed limits seem to be selective, targeting older drivers and teen-agers. Two different people claim to be the Chief of Police in the town. Fines are exhorbant. Dispatcher sets fines, says officers tell wrong amounts. Officer said driver in front of me wasn"t speeding as much as I was—he said I was doing 64 in a 55 zone and that he was not even going to argue with me. Dispatcher said most teenagers don’t want their parents to know about citations.
Highway 64 west
Coming both ways on 64, east to west or west to east, city police will sit in a parking lot with their radar on facing down the road. As it`s a 55 mph limit leading into the city limits, the reduce speed sign comes up fast, but the 40 mph comes even faster. you can`t dump the cruise and coast down ,the signs come up to fast, a $140.00 taught me that lesson.
