Saint Charles, Arkansas Speed Traps
Can be at either end of town.
There are only 150 water meters located in this town that has 3 police officers. There are no longer any businesses located anywhere within the city limits of St. Charles so the main source of revenue is speeding tickets. It’s not about catching people who are breaking the law – it’s all about generating income for what is left of the town. Since the two convenience stores that were located on the highway are now closed there is no longer any reason for the speed limit to drop to 45 MPH. This is absolutely a speed trap!
Located on Hwy 1 over the hill in St Charles before bridge
This speed trap is a total joke and the cop wasn’t even wearing a uniform, just a badge, gun and a camo shirt. The speed limit drops to 45 for about 1,000 yards or less then goes back up to 55. The sign is hidden in the turn before the hill and there is no time to slow down even if you did see it. The cop sits on the other side of the hill every single day and guns people coming as soon as they reach the crest of the hill. You can see the 55 mph sign from where you get pull over.
Hwy.1 old store
Town has 3 cops, population 150. Just as many thefts and drugs as Chicago but cops stay on highway 1. You tell me
East bound on Highway 1
Just east of St. Charles on Highway 1, the speed reduces from 55 to 45 min in less than 500 feet. The local city policeman (they only have one folks) sits eastbound on the side of the road just pass the 45 mph sign. Be aware, very aware.. this guy is serious. He will pull you over in a heart-beat and give you a ticket.
Anywhere in arkansas county
There’s a cop who thinks he can pull people over any where in Arkansas County. I have checked and he is not deputized. If you get pulled over by this clown. Be sure to check if the violation was in St.Charles or not. He is pushing his jurisdiction limits alot. I have heard he pulled someone over in crocketts bluff. The mayor needs to wake up and get rid of this guy
