Kamloops, British Columbia Speed Traps
West end of Halston bridge just before turnoff to Westsyde
Coming off the Halston bridge, heading west into North Shore just before overpass and turnoff to Westsyde Road. Usually located on street by Kamloops Ford auto body shop.
Heffley Creek, Highway 5 (Yellowhead)
Before two-lane highway turns into one-lane northbound, officers are stationed in dip in road with one speed radar on tripod and several unmarked cars. Looks like a survey team until cop points to your car and points toward shoulder. Do not exceed 130 km/h (80 mph) or you will be detained and taken to RCMP HQ. They’re pretty decent cops otherwise, so don’t get combative with them.
1km.east past end of 4 lanes on Hwy.1,leaving Monte Creek.
sit on right side of hwy.heading east on the Bostock rd. entrance just before the power lines cross hwy. This site is just past Monte Creek, and 5kms before you come to Pritchard,B.C.
Start of Lansdowne St. , east side of town
When Victoria St. splits, your right lane is the beginning of Lansdowne St. which turns slowly left into a blind spot hidden by the Arena buildings. In the next parking lot, a motorcycle cop usually hides by the entrance on the left side of the street. Too late to put your seat belt or slow down, as he will see you/clock you.
Highway 5 under Logan Lake Overpass
Biggest problem is heading south towards Merritt. You come over the crest of the hill, often passing slow moving traffic going up the hill and there they are. Under the Logan Lake overpass on the Coquihalla about 30 km southwest of Kamloops.
