Ladysmith, British Columbia Speed Traps
Just south of town on hwy
They use two or more cops and a couple times a month, they circle a small section of road pulling everyone over that they can. US cars beware !! They figure you will not travel back to fight the ticket so you are targets, too.
The speed limit goes from 90 to 70 just before the McDonald’s light {headed north} and they will cite you for "speed against highway sign" which is good for too fast and too slow. Fight the ticket on "vague law" grounds.
Also, know that your fine does not go to the court. It goes to ICBC. You can fight the fine on the basis of "double jeapordy" – you are fines twice by ICBC. First the ticket fine, then insurance rate hikes. Double jeapordy means to be tried and/or fines twice for the same offence.
