Only the first 1/2 mile of Bear Creek is posted at 30 MPH, then is elevated to 40+ MPH. CHP hides on roadside in the 30 MPH zone usually during morning commute hours when drivers often exceed 45 MPH. Speed limit on this road some years past used to be 55 MPH.
