Canyon Country, California Speed Traps
May Way and Via Princessa
On May Way on the way to Via Princessa There’s no speed limit indicator of 25mph. There’s a steep hill that pretty much dominates half the street. 2 cops hangout at the bottom of the hill and pull over people everyday. You need to consciously brake to maintain 25. You would go over 30 EASILY with any kind of gas. They take advantage of parents dropping off kids from school and trying to leave by going down this hill.
south-bound 14
CHP unit parked perpendicular to oncoming southbound traffic. unit is after “golden-valley” off ramp, on right side. officer is using radar while sitting in vehicle. there is a downgrade slope so oncoming vehicles will likely be caught in “trap”. Unit is somewhat hidden, due to dark location.
Southbound Sierra Hwy south of Golden Valley
Sheriff sits near the oil field driveway and catches cars as they come down the steep hill from Golden Valley Rd just before Placerita Canyon Rd.
Live Oak Springs Canyon Rd.
Cops often hide under the hanging trees or around the bend near Clearwater. Speed zone is 25 but coming downhill you need to brake the whole way or you will surely exceed speed. I have seen them pull over 2 or 3 cars at one time.
14 freeway at Golden Valley Rd
North and South on ramps to 14 from Golden Valley Rd. There is often a police car sitting on the ramps both North and South bound.
