Danville, California Speed Traps
San Ramon Valley Boulevard near Fire Station
Motorcycle cop hides behind the bushes in the parking lot next to the Fire Station on San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Sycamore Valley Road overpass and Podva Road. Uses laser gun that has not been calibrated since new (2 years ago). It is possible to beat his tickets because the speed limit (30 miles) is set 10 miles below the 85 percentile speed which makes the arrangement a speed trap. He is aggressively "enforcing" this speed limit.
Camino Ramon Road near Paraiso Drive
Danville Police, on slow hights (and most of them are slow in Danville) wait on Paraiso Drive for motorists who make incomplete "California" stops on Camino Ramon at Paraiso Drive. The stop is quite unnecessary and the junction has very little traffic. Danville could do with fewer policemen, instead the City is sending them to rake in some civic revenue.
Danville Boulevard near El Portal Drive
Usually after about noon there is 1 or 2 CHP officers sitting in a church parking lot, slightly hidden from behind a fence. In between Downtown Danville and Alamo.
El Cerro Boulevard near Interstate 680
There is always a patrol car somewhere on el cerro blvd.. the slightest downhills and uphills has a patrol cop waiting. The best thing is honestly to stay at 30mph.
Road in front of San Ramon Valley High
From 3:00 to about 3:45 Danville PD will continually patrol this road looking for double parkers and speeders. During the day motorcycles have been known to hide among the parked cars with radar looking for speeders as well.
