Lodi, California Speed Traps
Turner Road near Between Lodi Lake & Sacramento Street
Motorcycle cops are on Turner road frequently. They are usually on one of the side streets of Turner Road… just waiting.
Hwy 12 / Kettleman Lane near Mills Avenue
Lodi is notorious for pegging motorists coming into town, and leaving town, between the city and Interstate 5 to the west. Multiple LE units will park at the side of the road with laser, looking for a pack of cars traveling above the posted limit (35mph). The street is 8 lanes across, and the posted 35mph seems far too low.
They usually pick off the last vehicle in a pack of vehicles moving at speeds above the posted limit – which seems to be Lodi PD’s M.O.
State Highway 12 near Interstate 5
CHP waits on side streets at intersections EAST of Highway 12, heading into Lodi. Particularly near DeVries Road. They usually pick off the last vehicle in a pack of vehicles moving at speeds above the posted limit.
Kettleman Lane near N. Lakeshore Drive
One officer stands under the overhang of the building on the N.W. corner of Lakeshore and sends at least 3 bikes and 3 patrol units out after speeders. ONE AFTER THE OTHER! Usually from 07:00-14:00.
Turner Road near Laurel Avenue
Just east of the lake’s enterance. Multiple motor units hide on Laurel Ave and a patrolman will stand with the radar gun on the corner at Turner Rd. Especially when the sun in low on the horizon, morning and evening, hard to spot until you’re right on top of them.
