San Miguel Road near Spygass HIll Road
A motorcycle officer (or two) hides behind tress at the driveway entrance (outheast side of street) to the San Miguel Park parking lot on San Miguel Rd. I live a few blocks away and have seen an officer there several times a week, for at the last 3 or 4 years.
Newport Boulevard near VIa Lido Street
Usually two motorcycle officers wait in a parking structure entrance near the intersection of Newport Blvd. and Via Lido. They also hide in other areas but this is the most common place. They wait for someone to run a red light which happens frequently.
MacArthur Boulevard near Bison Road
At Traffic light N bound MacArthur @ Bison , two motorcycle cops with radar,blends into the traffic light signal poles, one chases & tickets. They have a good long sight line , but can & do confuse which car they’ve zapped. Fight back if you are doing the 55 limit- my wife did & got of with a warning from the female bike cop.
State Highway 1 PCH near Orange St By Newport Shores
Police on Bikes sit at the bus stop on Orange and catch people coming over the River Bridge from Huntington.
PCH Southbound Bypass
Motorcycle officer sits to the right before the underpass on the sidewalk where you can’t see him. The speed limits drops from 45 to 35 going southbound on PCH.
