State Route 125 near Grossmont College Bypass

San Diego, CaliforniaMay 15, 20050 Comments

Police will sit along the sides of SR 125 S just under the bridge under Grossmont College and catch those who speed on the onramp to the 125 and also those speeding up the hill. They are there usually 3-4 times per week at various times during the day. For the most part, the 125 from Mission Gorge Rd to I-8 is one big speed trap. Do not speed on this stretch of freeway.

Clairemont Drive near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard

San Diego, CaliforniaMay 02, 20050 Comments

There is usually a Highway Patrol motorcycle policeman just beyond the slight curve as you approach Clairemont Mesa Blvd from Balboa Ave. He is visable mostly in the afternoons and is fairly constant. The road is so nice yet the limit is 35mph. Thus one is tempted to exceed the limit so be careful here.

Morena Boulevard near Balboa Street

San Diego, CaliforniaMar 27, 20050 Comments

There is a cop that stands on the eastside of Morena Blvd just south of Balboa Ave and north of Clairemont Dr. You can’t see him as you "crest" Morena Blvd going northbound. As you pass Clairemont Dr., go the speed limit because that’s where he’ll initiate his radar. Trust me…I got a speeding ticket from SDPD and it really costs!

Interstate 15 South near State Highway 163

San Diego, CaliforniaFeb 22, 20050 Comments

The speed trap is on the I-15 going south right where the freeway meets the 163. An officer will wait atop the freeway and "radar" the people that are speeding below him, and he will take the onramp to catch up to them and ticket them. He ticketed both my roommate and myself in one weekend. Be Careful

College Avenue near Montezuma Boulevard

San Diego, CaliforniaJan 04, 20050 Comments

College Avenue Between Montezuma and El Cajon. This road requires you to go into a valley and come up the other side. There is a senior center near the bottom of the valley on college avenue that requires reduced speed of 35 mph. Most people go 50+ because they are going downhill. One officer will radar you at the bottom of the hill and the other will pick you up at the top (usually going northbound). Typically the cops are out during a.m. school traffic and at dusk. Also watch out for the photo enforced signal at College and Montezuma.
