Arapahoe, Colorado Speed Traps
Liverpool Street near Arapahoe Road
Police park in one of the entrances to the Greenfield subdivision (west side of the street) or the entrance to The Meadows subdivision (east side of the street), frequently on motorcycles so they’re hard to see._
Arapahoe Road near Himalaya Street
People passing Grandview High School heading west go up over a little rise, and just after the top of the hill, the police are standing (hiding) back in the entrance to Greenfield Estates with radar. The speed limit on Arapahoe Rd. is 45 before and shortly after the school, but it’s only 35 mph going past the high school, so a lot of people get caught there._
Yosemite Street near Dry Creek Road
Between Arapahoe Road and Dry Creek – at the bottom of the valley on the East side is where the Police sit with Radar. You tend to pick up speed going down hill and the City of Centennial has no tolerance and is quick to pick up violators anywhere above the speed limit.
Jordan Road near Arapahoe Rd.-Main St.
This stretch of Jordan Rd, from Arapahoe east of Centennial Airport to Main Street in Parker, is well-covered by Arapahoe, Douglas and State Patrol marked and unmarked cars, as well as bikes. Parker PD loves the Cottonwood area south to Main. The stretch south of Arapahoe lends itself to higher speeds, as does the area just south of E-470. The cops give you 5, beyond that, you’re looking for a travel delay.
