Aurora, Colorado Speed Traps
Dayton Street near 4th Avenue
There are ususally cops standing outside with their radars catching in and everyone. They are usually on motorcycles instead of patrol cars to be more discrete. I received 2 tickets at the same location within 2 months! The flow of traffic on Dayton is much faster than the suggested speed limits. Be careful!
Exposition Street near Sable Street
East of Sable on Exposition motorcycle cops park there bike on the sidwalk behind a young tree just on the west edge of a medical building entrance to catch anyone westbound anything above three-five MPH over gets a suprise
I see this all the time when its warm out WATCH OUT
Dartmouth Street near S. Mobile Way
Two motorcycle officers sit under the trees of a residence on the nw corner of S. Mobile Way and E. Dartmouth (Dartmouth between S. Laredo and Buckley Rd). This is designated a school zone and posted speed is 25. These officers are there usually between 2:30 and 5:00 weekdays and get cars going in each direction (both have radar guns).
Airport Road near North of 6th Avenue
The trap is above 6th Ave, on Airport Rd. near the church on the east side of the road.
There are usually cycle cops using radar, and thy aren’t too easy to spot, but the walk out and flag you in to the drive-in of the church.
Chambers Street near Mississippi Street
Red Light Photo Enforcement supposedly to make these 4 intersections safer. At $75 and no points off your license, it sounds more like a revenue producing scheme to me.
Why don’t you write to City of Aurora and ask for the studies that justify these as dangerous intersections which require this level of enforcement.
