Castle Rock, Colorado Speed Traps

Speed limit drops from 75 to 65 with no "warning" signs of upcoming drop in speed. Goes back to 75 after Castlerock.

School Zone enforcement. Daily and strict. Average ticket is plea bargined based on driving record. I got two points on my record and paid $210.

School Zone – traffic officer posted there to give school zone speeding tickets, meaning more money for the town. Heading east, I was clocked at 34 mph, altho I wasn’t in the 20 mph school zone. Unfair!

Dirt road with minimum traffic. Speed limits should be at least 10 miles/hr. faster than posted. Very difficult to maintain 25 miles/hr. especially on a downhill slope. No major turnoffs, a few private drives.

Local police have extended the 25 mph construction zone speed limit well past the construction zone on only one side of a two-lane road. The opposite lane traveling into the construction zone has a speed limit of 35 mph.
