Castle Rock, Colorado Speed Traps
Front Street near Ligit Street
The Castle Rock Police like to stake out by Douglas County High School trying to catch kids late to class. Watch for unmarked and marked Chevy Impalas and a black Dodge Stratus. The limit is 35 coming over the bridge from downtown to the school so let of the gas early after you climb the hill to eliminate over acceleration. Be most careful between 6:50am and 7:45am as this is the ideal time for them to prey on youth drivers.
Founders Parkway near State Highway 86
Castle Rock Police constantly patrol Founders Parkway. It is a posted 45 mile per hour zone. I received a ticket for 60 MPH and it cost me $162.00. Watch out for the unmarked cars as well! Any thing over 10 MPH above the speed limit then you will be making a dontation to the Town.
i-25 from exit 181 to lincoln ave in lone tree
I have witnessed 4 troopers, 2 north and 2 south, hiding on off ramps at 24 hours a day. Particularly heavy at the castle pines exit and the surrey ridge exit. They wait for people to think they are ok after seeing the first trooper and then nail them with the second. It is disgusting, and on 8/14/2002 @ 4-5 pm I saw no fewer than 12 troopers pulling over one car after another in an apparent random fashion. Is this even legal?
I-25
Single unmarked CHP parked at bridge shooting at northbound traffic. Estimate 1/2mile range when my detector went off, but it was too late.
