Trinidad, Colorado Speed Traps

East Main just past Geno’s, city cop sets down a few blocks on the hill, I was going 36 mph, speed limit is 25, you need to accelerate to make it up that big hill. Cost me 100$!

Can’t remember in the last 20 years driving this stretch without seeing a highway patrol officer either stopping or stopped writing a ticket.

Going north after leaving Wal-mart or DOT office south of Trinidad into the construction zone through town. Speed limit lowers dramatically going downhill. Most people get tickets for 10 to 19 miles over the speed limit here. Definite speed trap! People pass me all the time on this stretch and they publish names in the local paper, courtesy of the State Patrol.

Be careful along this stretch of I-25.

cops sit on a sharp turn where it is easy for them to catch you and no time for u to slow down.
