Wheat Ridge, Colorado Speed Traps
Sheridan Southbound between 48th and 4th
Limit drops from 45 to 35. Squad car waits off highway at Lakeside Amusement Park. This is almost daily, most hours of day and night.
Interstate I-70 near Kipling St. Street
This 4 to 5 mile stretch of Interstate 70 is the heaviest enforced speed limit in Denver. I rarely drive through there without seeing someone getting a ticket.
Youngfield Street near West 38th Ave. Avenue
On Younfield St. just passed 38th Ave on the right side half way down the hill he sits in police car.
Dudley Ave Avenue near Btween 32nd and 38th Ave Avenue
Most of the larger streets in Wheat Ridge have a 35 mph speed limit. Dudley, though a major cross street btween 32nd Ave and 38th Ave, has a residential speed of 25 mph. I was caught with radar going 35 mph. The police officer said that this trap was prompted by local citizen complaints. He did apologize as he handed me my ticket!
Youngfield Street near 38th Avenue
With the completion of widening Youngfield to four lanes from 38th to 44th Avenues, a new trap is being used by Wheat Ridge. The park in driveways and at 42nd avenue. They target those cars accelerating down the hill where its easy to get to 45 mph and over on the new wide road. Units can mostly be seen if you look for them.
