Bridgeport, Connecticut Speed Traps
Huntington Turnpike at Nutmeg Road (Westbound)
Bridgeport PD hides behind a white picket fence right before the traffic light at Evers Street. Speed Limit on roadway is 35 MPH.
Broadbridge Ave & Hooker Rd (by Huntington Tpke)
Broadbridge Ave – heading north past Beardsley Plaza (Vazzy’s restaurant). BRIDGEPORT POLICE ON MOTORCYCLES – Used to use K-band radar, have since progressed to Lidar (laser) gun – sight targets at easterly turn after Greystone Rd. approx. 800 feet from parking lot to plaza where cars are pulled over. 25 MPH is ridiculous when a town engineer said the road has a 45 MPH design speed – I have personally seen this speedtrap 4 times in the past 9 months, and have been caught by it once myself – and I live on Broadbridge Ave – taxes at work!!
I 95 Between Exits 24-30 (Both Directions)
State Police is always monitoring speed with their cameras and also with the assistance of Trooper 1.(Aircraft) If you wanna go fast, don’t drive under them, fly over them!
Main Street and Woodmont Avenue
Bridgeport cruiser sits in Texaco gas station monitoring northbound and southbound speeding. These cops are nice, only if you talk your way out of a ticket the right way!
Boston Ave
The Bridgeport PD usually hides in the cemetery, right between the walls, or on the side roads or at the second set of lights after you pass the big GE building. The posted speed is 25.
