Brookfield, Connecticut Speed Traps
Candlewood Lake Road near Huckleberry Hill Elementary School
They park in the driveway of Huckleberry Hill Elementary School – usually from 7:30 Am until about 10 AM. The speed limit in the school zone is 25MPH from 8AM to 4PM during the school year; 30MPH the rest of the time.
Long Meadow Hill Road near Hillandale Road
While driving North,once you pass the STOP sign just north of Brookfield High School, the local Police park under trees on the side of the road or in homeowners driveways all the way to the New Milford border waiting for drivers to exceed the 30 MPH speed limit.
State Highway 7 near End of expressway
Once you have left I-84 exit 7 to get on Super 7 towards Brookfield and New Milford there is a spot right near the end of the expressway that State and Town cops like to set up in. Actually, they like to patrol the whole spur quite a bit.
West Whisconier Road
As soon as you make a left onto Whisconier, be careful. After the church on the left, before the middle school there is usually a marked car sitting on the left side of the road. You cannot see the car as you approach, because you will turn the corner and then it appears.
Pumpkin Hill Road, Brookfield High School
Just north of the high school, not visible until inside radar range. Detector a must in this zone. Some use of hand held ‘shotgun’ radar has been used during pm rush hour. This is a known travel route off of Rt 7. Jogger can often be seen on this somewhat scenic road, and are probably the complaintants.
