New Hartford, Connecticut Speed Traps
Route 202 East of the Route 219 (Town Hill Rd) Junction
Heading either direction. They sit in either Timberline Rd. or the new road across from it near the bottom of the big hill with the traffic light at Rt 219 just before the farm. There are long straight stretches leading to here in both directions and the view either way from Timberline is long and unobstructed. Some times they sit high up on Antolini Rd (leading to the school) at the light to Rt 219 to catch people running the red.
State Route 202 near Saybrook Fish House Rest.
The Trooper sits on the east side of the road (Rt. 202) in New Hartford on the down side of the hill just before you come to the bottom where the Saybrook Fish House Restaurant is in Canton, at the four corners. He can see straight back about 1/2 mile up the hill, so if you come around the corner at the top of the hill too fast, it’s already too late. He sits in a place where he can have his choice of monitoring traffic coming down or going up Rt. 202 towards Torrington.

Enforcement is done by both state and local police, with K-band radar units. Most often done at night (with all lights off, making detection extremely difficult), but sometimes during the day as well. One of the resident state troopers that I know has told me his "cut-off point" is 10mph over, however many people do 15mph and more, never a dull moment for him.
