Newtown, Connecticut Speed Traps
Toddy Hill Road near Head O’ Meadow School
As you go along Toddy Hill Road heading towards Hattertown Road, the entrance of Head O’ Meadow Elementary School will be a police officer in a marked police vehicle (the undercover car is a gold taurus with civilian plates) parked parallel to the road on the right hand side of the road in the enterance to the school with his radar aimed up right at the crest of the last ‘blind hill’ before the enterance clocking your speed. No room to hit the brakes and slow down. Since Newtown Police are so nice, it is strictly enforced 25 mph. They never run it when school is in session, so the police run the trap after school when there is little danger of you running over a child.
State Route 25
At the ambulance station in Newtown on 25 in the parking lot there is a police officer usually running radar. The hill before the station is ridiculously long and will require you to ride the brake to maintain the 30 mph.
Mile Hill Rd
Coming down the big hill towards I-84 and Rt 34 on Mile Hill Rd, the speed limit is 30 mph. The Newtown cop will be on the right at the bottom of the hill. To maintain 30 mph or less, you’ll need to heavily ride the brake. It’s ridiculous that the speed limit is so low here. A perfect speed trap.
25 South Sand Hill Plaza
Cop will sit on the lawn in front of Sand Hill Plaza straight in front of KB Toy Works.
