Rocky Hill, Connecticut Speed Traps
I-91 Between Exits 24 and 22
This whole stretch in Rocky Hill has 3-4 speed traps in it. Police frequently hide in a paved U-turn (this is easy to spot, and you can slow down when you see the turn and he won’t get you because of the knolls on either side). Police frequently hide at exits 23 and 22 also.
And, going southbound, look out for a ramp/driveway that merges into the right lane. It is not signed and between exits 24 and 23. Police could make a killing off of that one, but I do not know how often they use it, if at all.
Interstate 91 near Exit Number 23
There is a cop car parked on the emergency connector between North bound and South bound. But they dont seem to catch u if u do upto 72 mph or if its rush hour.
Interstate I-91S near Exit Number Between Exit 23 and 24
A police cars sit at a couple of points between Exit 23 and 24 on I-91. They sit there anytime of the day. I’ve seen them in the morning, rush hour evening time and also late nights. If you are travelling on I91, just slow down enough to go 65-70 mph. They’re just waiting there to get someone. Once you pass Exit 21 on I91S and exit 24 on I91N, you can start cruisin again.
West Street near Dinosaur State Park
Marked car sits near entrance of Dinosaur State Park especially late at night w/lights off. Officer has clear view of traffic going in both directions. Posted limit is 45, but since this is a straight away its very easy to exceed that limit. Stay under 50mph & you should be fine. Also, worth noting this is the main way to get to the PGA tour event held annually at the TPC in Cromwell during August. Out of state drivers be aware. If you get pulled over they will not let you go.
Interstate 91 N near Exit Number 24
Grassy area on on/off ramp of exit.
