Washington DC, District of Columbia Speed Traps
600 Kenilworth Ave, s/b
This camera is positioned to trap vehicles as they are exiting the posted and very visible 50mph signs on Kenilworth Ave to Helens Burroughs. The drastically reduced speed limit sign of 25 miles nor the camera is visible to law abiding citizens.
This is a purposefully designed speed trap that leaves unsuspecting drivers with no recourse, even when you’re trying to obey the rules of the road.
South Capital Street, SW, in front of Nationals Stadium
25 mph sign just before speed camera. lead up speed from Eisenhower tunnel 35 mph and after South Capital street in front of Nationals Stadium, on Frederick Douglass Bridge is 30 mph. Also, no flash on the cameras. Definite trap.
DC295 SW .7miles s/o Exit 1 S/B Nov 2016
Had to be a camera postioned alongside the road. My car is the only one in the
picture.I don’t ever remember being the only car on that road.So make sure if you
are driving through this area stay with a group of cars then you can go any speed
you want. They must pick on the single cars going 5 miles to fast and not the group
going 20 miles to fast. I always take 295 when traveling south.May have to rethink
that decision or just drive 50 miles an hour an have everyone s swearing at me.
Slow down on 295!
600 blk , kenilworth ave ne. south bound
three different posting in a one block area
600 blk Kenilworth Ave NE s/b
Located immediately after exiting 295 southbound onto Kenilworth Avenue. At the beginning of the exit the speed limit is 50mph (has a sign on the left). Less than 30 feet later another speed limit sign shows 25mph (on the right).
There is not enough space to safely slow down. We received a ticket for going 38mph while slowing down here for $100. This is an undeniable speed trap!!!
